so stoked to be set to have this pulled off yet again. i love everything about it. the fact that there exist no spearhead of this or that. the fact a gathering of swine enthusiast huddle in the dirt once a year gives me faith in my community. moreover, the fact that my buddy chef does his do and gives a pig for the pit each year, including this one...that shit is mental. we don't ask for anything. seen.

it makes one feel smart when their friends are creative. i like justin and chris. they make me feel inspired. today was a tuesday. typically i would have tutored, taught and then been stoked to come home to the requirements of a father of a very inspiring daughter and husband of the worlds most worth while wife. and so did i do just that.... but there was this little bit more. this morning i orchestrated a little meet up of sorts. scored a few nugs at sliders. with some amigos. whats wrong with that? yeah i'm a trenched in mah-sheen. i do my do. so. why wouldn't one do that? few bottum turns, maybe a cut back or two, you know... a nose ride... i don't know...a curl shoot or sumpin. so. typical. yeah. what? look,  i love this. is it ego? is it recording the glory days? is it sharing with friends? is it nothing special? whatever.

me brethren justin and chris got this little thing going on that i'm all about. all about. not for me own narcissistic endeavors mind you. nay. rather 'cuz ... through the years... i still give a shite about what is out there. and i think there is more to what is going on than what me own shite has figured...true. look i know of people that draw cleaner lines than i do, and that live more honorably. and are equally or more enthusiastic about swine life... so please... Ricky is rad. so stoked to meet up with new friends and SCORE. Ricky and I were sharing wave after wave. Like a conveyor belt this morning. we both surfed well today. Ricky had some knee paddle in super clean bottom turns, nose ride master,turn, set up, do it again.... on a board he made start to finish himself, on the island. i was up to my usual trip. bottom turn, stall, head dip, hair-wash curl shoot, cutback...repeat. so buttery out there today. warm water too. so GOOD. i had to run in and get some shots of Ricky. so stoked i did too. i was standing in the bay trying to get some shots , and the leopard sharks came and said "hi". i could have done with out that. yeah, yeah... i know.. i get it ... they don't bite. SO. the shit is freaky. period.

Here's the skinny: Board 1: 10' Gordie pig, circa early 60s. No dings, original redwood fin. 3/4" redwood stringer. This board is SUPER clean, probably my best specimen after the balsa. Mustard yellow color on bottom is resin tint, not suntan. 1200 obo Board 2: 9'10 Surfboards Hawaii Billy Hamilton Stylist model, Mid-late 60s. Original fin, triple stringer, rare resin tailblock. Hey Mike,

Thought I’d share with you a couple of pics of my new pig- hand shaped by Pieter Stockkert under his own label Pieter Surfboards, who I ride for. The board is 10’ long, 23.75” at the wide point (I think yours are around 22.5-23”?) located approximately 10” behind centre and 3.25” thick, with a very flat rocker and nice soft rail profile. Ive only had it for a couple of weeks and still getting the feel for it, but so far its epic. Amazing how these boards can be turned on a dime and they nose ride unreaI. I've included a few recent ones from a talented local photographer (Holly) who works on the northern beaches of Sydney called Hollytree Photos (her Instagram tag is @hollytreephoto). She's a pretty talented photographer and captures the light really nicely. Also attached are some from Frothing Grey Grommets which you may have already seen on Instagram.
